Case Study

Leeds University – Sir William Henry Bragg Building

Located on the northeast quarter of campus,  the new 15,700m2 building enables the integration of the University disciplines of Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, and Computing and addresses 21st Century challenges in many areas, including energy-efficient computing, telecommunications, sustainable magnetic materials, sensors for use in biological systems and extreme or remote environments, pharmaceutical formulations, ‘smart foods’ and medical technologies.

S+B UK were appointed to supply and install furniture across approx 65 laboratories and specialist rooms, and the preferred system chosen by the client was the Exemplaire C frame with a combination of mobile and suspended cupboards and Trespa Worktops.

In order to meet the flexibility needs, mobile and height-adjustable tables, as well as balance benches, were also provided in some areas.

Safety stations with concealed plumbing behind panels that matched the storage colours, and fitted with Broen emergency eyewashes were harmoniously integrated into the lab design.

The Scheme was designed by ADP Architecture  and constructed by BAM Construction
