Vin University Benches – design stages

Vin University Laboratory Furniture

S+B UK, in collaboration with Tam Minh Technology, our agent in Vietnam, successfully completed the design, supply, and installation of bespoke furniture systems and fume cupboards at Vin University Hanoi, Vietnam.

The scope of works consisted of 8 Laboratories, 1 SuperLab, and few additional Preparation and Storage Rooms.

The images below show the various stages of design of the 14 SuperLab Benches, starting with a rough sketch of Liam’s Serridge, the S+B International Sales Manager, during a call with Phuang Dau, Managing Director at Tam Minh Tech, followed by the 2D AutoCAD drawing, Virtual Worlds and Inventor 3D renderings and a picture of the installed bench on site.

The steelwork support system is a combination of our premium Exemplaire C-frame and Column Systems with suspended cabinets that can slide laterally, providing flexibility and future reconfiguration.

There are keyboard trays and fitted AV columns with aluminum corner profiles for a sleek finish above the worktops as well as monitor arms to hold large computer screens. Atop the columns are LED light-up perspex boxes which can be controlled by the students to alert the tutors when they need assistance.

The worktops are Corian with no visible joints.
