British International School Kuala Lumpur

British International School of Kuala Lumpur is part of the Nord Anglia Education, the world’s leading premium schools organization and is also a member of COBIS (Council of British International Schools) and FOBISIA ( The Federation of British International Schools in Asia).

In 2017 S+B manufactured and installed, in collaboration with IT Tech, our agent in Malaysia and Singapore, the Food Technology Propeller System,  an innovative furniture system with integrated hobs and cookers and generous storage to accommodate the utensils and equipment necessary in a Food Tech Suite.

As part of their development plan, the school was also looking to transform the existing secondary science laboratory into a futuristic environment for primary pupils to enjoy and associate with science. The laboratory furniture chosen was the Saturn and Mercury System, a popular combo of student workstations with integrated service consoles that facilitates collaborative group learning and enables the teacher to operate equally well from more than one demo/lecture position and easily move about the classroom.

The Corian worktops and sinks were seamlessly jointed, creating easy to clean, chemically resistant and fully renewable surfaces with an excellent life cycle value.

In 2019 the S+B team returned to the BIS Kuala Lumpur to further install school furniture to a Makerspace Suite, Computing Lab and Technician Room.

The Makerspace layout consisted of a combination of Woodwork and Metalwork Realisation benches, Teaching Wall with whiteboard finish doors, baggage units and Gratnell trays as well as mobile benches with incorporated storage.

Fitted furniture with Trespa Worktops and under bench storage and knees spaces, as well as wall cupboards, were installed to both Technician Room and IT Laboratory.
