We are delighted to announce that S+B UK have been appointed to deliver the specialist laboratory furniture package for the new Life and Mind Building (LaMB) at the University of Oxford.
The £200m building is set to deliver 268,000 square feet of research, teaching and innovation space and will house the Department of Experimental Psychology and a new Department of Biology, combining the existing Departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology.
This incredible facility will be the largest building project that the University, working in partnership with Legal & General, has undertaken to date.
Designed by NBBJ Design and currently under construction by main contractor Wates Group, the building will be occupied by 1,200 researchers and 800 students when it reaches completion in 2024.
As a UK based specialist, all the laboratory furniture we are delivering on this project will be manufactured within 170 miles of the site.
This aligns with the focused, sustainable approach to the project, by ensuring minimal environmental impact, whilst also supporting the UK manufacturing industry.
