BST is part of Nord Anglia Education, the world’s leading premium schools organisation and a member of COBIS (Council of British International Schools).

In November 2020 they launched a state-of-the-art STEAM Centre dedicated to the next generation of Scientists, Engineers, Mathematicians and Artists, a learning environment that allows students to learn by inventing, creating and designing—and understanding the true meaning of design.

As a Nord Anglia supplier, S+B have had the opportunity to work on several schools over the past 10 years and it was this collaboration and experience that made our company the perfect choice for the manufacture and supply of furniture systems for the three science laboratories located in the new building.

The SpaceStation and Saturn workstations, with Corian worktops, seamlessly jointed integral service consoles, provide generous space per student enabling practical group work. Due to their shape and excellent circulation space, they enable the teacher to address the students from any one of many equally well-suited positions in the room rather than from a single fixed restrictive teaching point.

The Xenium System with fixed service bollards and mobile tables are perfectly suited for the two labs that require flexibility and easy re-configuration. Once fixed in place, however, due to the Intercon connecting system patented by S+B, the mobile tables are transformed into safe, secured work surfaces for practical experiments.

Each laboratory was also provided with a teacher demo desk fitted with a docking station which allows for our Mobiline re-circulatory fume cupboard to be quickly connected when needed for experiments, shared between rooms, or be stored away when not in use.
