Following the completion of state-of-the-art laboratories for two other international schools in Barcelona and Madrid in previous years, S+B is returning to Spain this summer for a new exciting project at Colegio Internacional Meres – Asturia.
Offering a a unique education model combining Spanish curriculum and IB, the Meres International School Colegio Internacional Meres has a strong focus on academic excellence (their EBAU “Spanish accreditation” results are among the best), and it has a very international outlook.
The project, comprising of two science laboratories and a preparation room, will transform the existing spaces into inspiring learning environments by using attractive shapes and high quality materials such as Corian.
A popular system amongst international schools due to it’s engaging form that facilitates and promotes interactive group learning, the Spacestation will take centre stage in the two labs. Due to its moulded turrets that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also provide easy access to gas and electrical services, this furniture system provides generous working space.
Also including our circular Saturn workstation, the new lab design creates very generous circulation space and enables the teacher to move easily around the room to engage and interact with students.
The introduction of the Mobiline into the design, a re-circulatory fume cupboards with all round clear viewing panels, ensures a hand-on learning experience, that its’s not just engaging and fun, but also safe.
The science laboratories will be completed with tall storage walls with integrated screens that will conveniently store all the equipment away when not in use.
